Need to Get or Renew Your Passport?
U.S. citizens should visit the U.S. Department of State's website for information about applying for a passport. You can apply for one at the Yale Station post office in New Haven or the New Haven Free Public Library. Current estimated wait times for passport processing are 8-11 weeks, and expedited processing is estimated at 5-7 weeks, starting from when the State Department receives your application, not from when you mail it. Do not delay applying for or renewing your passport if you're planning to study abroad this summer. You can get a passport photo from the Yale ID Center (55 Lock Street). Passport photo services at the Yale ID Center do not require an appointment.
Thinking about studying abroad? Start learning about how to study abroad on the “Get Started” tab. Search programs that fit your personal and academic interests, learn about fulfilling requirements with outside credit, and see how credit works by clicking “academics and credit” for either “Year or Term” or “Non-Yale Summer.”
Meet with a Study Abroad Adviser to explore goals, programs, credit transfer, and more.
